If you have read any of our more recent blog posts, you know we are talking a lot about technology. Technology is making life easier for those with disability challenges of all ages. Another Golden Technology product we love is the Golden Buzzaround GB120 CarryOn. We have sold hundreds of these lightweight performance scooters, and it remains our best ‘all-around’ scooter. It is light, folds flat, gets up to 18 miles on a single charge and we have the testimonials for it traveling the world over and performing above expectations. It’s 8 lb. lithium-ion battery is simple to remove and can charge as a stand-alone from the unit. The new and improved 2024 GB120 has been upgraded with a kickstand for easy stand-and-store. Golden has continued to advance new products this year including the GP303 Ally, a revolutionary wheelchair that has a whole new modern design, is packed with new features, and uses voice commands to help the user. The GC540 is a 3-wheel HD scooter that supports 500 pounds, has big anti-tip wheels on the front, 3.75” of ground clearance at the transaxle, and can get up to 16 miles on a single charge. Finally, it has a big 22” W x 20” D captain’s chair for maximum comfort. Big 10” + wheels can take you about anywhere you want to go. Last but certainly not least is the GP130; cousin to the GB120 but the Golden GP130 is a true center wheel drive power wheel chair. Year over year the Triumph Escape is one of our best-selling products. The Triumph Escape is the best made, most durable, most flexible, and well-designed walker/rollators on the market today. In typical Triumph fashion, it is all class. An easy-to-use rollator with a comfortable seat and the most comfortable back available in a rollator. In a flip it becomes a transport chair – same comfortable seat and back with legrests. The handles flip around from rollator mode to transport mode so that the person pushing you has control of the brakes and locks. It is a little heavier than a typical rollator but that also makes for a more comfortable and smoother ride. Also this year Triumph has introduced a light weight walker with a comfortable seat, and a new rollator.

The braking mechanism is controlled by one hand; nice if one hand is busy or if you only have control of one hand. It is inexpensive, folds flat and is lightweight. We anticipate it to be a 2025 best seller. A great present for the wife who “doesn’t know what she wants this year.”

 

   

 

Pride continues to be the largest producer of mobility products in the world. The Pride Jazzy Carbon is almost two years old and continues to be one of our bestsellers. The compact, fold-down, lightweight wheelchair is still one of the best deals on the market. The change they made in 2024 was in the joystick. The new joystick is much smoother to operate, meaning when you take a turn it is a gentle, controlled, steady turn. The old controller tended to be ‘jerky’ when changing directions or in a turn. The next great 2024 rollout for Pride was the introduction of the I-Turn technology to the Go-Go series. Historically, it has been only the Zero-Turn 8 and Zero-Turn 10 that had this technology. This is a big and welcomed change that has everybody talking. The Elite Traveller is now the Elite Traveller 2. With EZ Turn Technology the Elite Traveller 2 has a turning radius of a tight 37”. That’s as good as many electric wheelchairs and you still have the stability of a 4-wheel scooter.

We would be remiss if we did not mention the PLR-4955 Ultra Lift chair. This is a nice chair that comes standard with infinite positioning, feet above the heart positioning, heat and a wonderful massage that zooms in on lower lumbar. The massage is something special. Using a two-bag pneumatic system, the bags alternate inflating and deflating to deliver an unbelievable massage sensation. There is one bag in the back of the seat and one in the lower back portion. It really feels like there are alternating massage balls; that is how good it feels. And relaxing,….oh my! There are three different massage intensity levels and three different heat settings. The heat is applied in the back, seat, and the ankle sections. It is a complete heating system that will take the deepest chill out of any evening. Finally, one of the fabric options is Sorrento Leather. This is not some pseudo-leather or other manufactured leather. It is real, authentic cowhide that looks and feels as genuine as it truly is; a compliment to any home.
